COMMERCIAL Translation
I provide freelance translation services for LSPs and direct clients in the UK and Norway, translating from Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk) and Danish into English.
Having achieved an MA in Translation and Interpreting Studies, I am trained to work in NO/DA>EN commercial translation, subtitling and translating for international organisations (NGOs and the EU). I have also studied translation technologies and had my termbase research published in the United Nation's WIPO database. I have experience using various CAT tools through both my studies and professional work, but am open to training on/using new software.
I specialise in institution/business-to-consumer publications but have significant experience translating internal/inter-institutional texts as well. I have worked on a variety of commercial projects, including governmental documents and manifestos, hiking guides, safety manuals, school curricula, academic articles, annual and sustainability reports, legal and insurance documents, company presentations, tourist advertisements, websites and diverse marketing materials. I am open to editing texts of any genre, but I have extensive experience translating academic articles and research. I have provided these services for a range of clients, from the Norwegian government, universities and major Norwegian newspapers and companies, through to small, independent businesses.
