BACKGROUND & CURRENT WORK

Originally from Stoke-on-Trent, I spent the best part of a decade moving between the midlands, Edinburgh and the Hardanger region of Norway. I completed an MA (Hons) in Scandinavian Studies and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with a 2:1 and a distinction in spoken Norwegian in 2018, and an MA in Translation and Interpreting Studies from the University of Manchester, where I achieved a distinction in 2020. I have been working as a translator (NO/DA>EN) and editor (EN) since 2018, but I have over 12 years of experience working in a variety of industries, including: publishing, library services, pharmacy, child care, teaching, farming, retail, hospitality and volunteering.

I work on regular commercial translation and editing projects from Norwegian (Bokmål and Nynorsk) and Danish into English, specialising in creative writing, institution/business-to-consumer and inter-institutional texts. I work with both LSPs and direct clients, from UK-based publishers and Norwegian literary agencies to the Norwegian institutions and small independent commercial enterprises.

I am open to working with new clients - please feel free to get in touch via the contact form.
